Afro Blues Project
Afro Blues Project
Jazz, soul, world music, blues all these tags apply to British singer songwriter and multi vocalist Omar Gueye ,but really earns the latter with his latest project. The Afro blues "Shango Spirit"Album is a stunning collaboration with Italian musician Alessandro Diaferio, Pablo Leoni, Andrea Vismara bringing together a swampy mix of contemporary blues.
NEW RELEASE AFP - "OCEAN OF LOVE"
Following the success of the "Blue Queen" album winning the People Choice at Jazz Ascona in 2018 The Afro Blues Project are proud to present their second album release "Ocean of Love '.
The album is aptly titled recorded in the power of blues. The album evoked by Randolphs ancestal ritualisic roots of the carribean confronts the hidden power and truth that connects all human beings to overcome obstacles in uncertain times.
The songs are musically piercing attuned to the journey of british blues through slide guitars and Weissenborn with an "Hendrix Voodoo taste" combined with the acoustic and archaic sweetness of the first bluesmen. The band members Alessandro Diaferio (guitar) Pablo Leoni (drums) and Andrea Vismara (bass) evoke a raw, percussive world with Randolph's Matthews vocal emancipation sailing above with the Ocean of Love.
Ocean of Love is due for release in online in 2019 on all major platforms.
Omar Gueye expressive Swiss delivery compliments the New Orleans style drum grooves of Pablo and Alessandro's versatile electro acoustic blues guitar playing. The trio who first met in live jam session offer up original songs covering the diaspora of colours in blues. The three musicians though born in completely different worlds share the same universal expression of blues music that travels and connects with real feelings.
The Afro blues project "Blue Queen" and " Ocean of Love" Album is on release on major online distributors Spotify and Itunes and touring throughout Europe.
