Since 2012, Marjorie has joined the big band âNice Jazz Orchestra (NJO)â led by Pierre Bertrand, Christian Pachiaudi and Alain Asplanato as singer/artist in residence and has shared the stage with Sanseverino, Hugh Coltman, Marc Thomas, Liz McComb, Walter Ricci, Jairo⊠The honorary president of the orchestra is none other than AndrĂ© Cecarelli. The NJO has also accompanied Michel the Great, Richard Galliano, Roberta Gambarini, StĂ©phane Belmondo, Fabien Mary, Anders Bergcrantz⊠The orchestra has honored more than two hundred concerts (Nice Jazz Festival, at the St Raphael Festival, Jazz en Baie âŠ).
The meeting in 2013 with the talented Jean-Marc Jafet (bass) gave birth to his 3rd album âSweet Memoriesâ recorded as a quartet with Ronnie Rae Jr (piano) and Alain Asplanato (drums). This album revisits pop & rock standards from the sixties: The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin with jazz colors. Four years later, she was invited on Jean-Marc Jafet's album âLe Meilleur Moment du Mondeâ alongside StĂ©phane Guillaume (Saxophone, flute), Franck Amsallem (piano), Linus Olsson (guitars), Christian Fernandez ( vocals, percussion, guitars) and Alain asplanato (drums).
In 2017 Marjorie was invited to the Jaffa Jazz Festival in Tel Aviv where she performed in concert for a tribute to Billie Holiday. She also sings in Mamelo Gaitanopoulos' big band accompanied by the legendary Billy Cobham on drums. She then decided to continue this tribute to Billie Holiday by producing her 4th album âFlowersâ ââin 2018 in collaboration with Linus Olsson (guitars), Giliard Leitzke Lopes (double bass), Alain Asplanato (drums), Jay Metcalf (BetterSax, saxophone), Francois Arnaud (violin), Freddy Garcia (accordion), Thierry Trinari (cello) and Anne Bonifas (cello). Pierre Bertrand also wrote a magnificent cello arrangement for him on the title Body and Soul.
Invited by Hugh Coltman, she shared the stage during a charity concert for the benefit of Secours Populaire with TĂ©tĂ©, Hugh Coltman, the group Gunwood, Melissa Laveaux, Sandra Nkaké⊠It was in 2021 that Marjorie was selected by the singer TĂ©tĂ© for be part of his album âLockdown Sessionsâ and performs the title âI Heard it Through the Grapevineâ as a duet. She recorded a 5th album of her folk/jazz compositions âLIVE at Studio 26â in 2021 then at the beginning of 2022 recorded some of her tracks produced and arranged by Gunnar from the group Gunwood (Ben lâuncle Soul).
In 2022, Marjorie releases her 6th opus with Nissa Label (Directo Production) âMarjorieâs Blues Machineâ with two distinguished guests on vocals: Hugh Coltman and Walter Ricci. A tribute album to Black American music in a soul & blues style with playful compositions, with Leo Giannola (guitars), Alain Asplanato (drums), David Giacobetti (bass), Fred d'Oelsnitz (piano), Jay Metcalf (saxophone). ) and Philippe Bleuez (Trumpet). On the stage side, we found him opening for Popa Chubby, Keziah Jones, Natalia M King.
